In his interview, Chuck Foster described some controversy over the construction of a highway into Fannin County.

William Patterson stated that the biggest difference he noticed during his lifetime in Fannin County has been the increase in traffic. According to Patterson, modern tourism would not be possible without the access the highway provides.
